Live the History:
Condominium Living in the Historic Heart
of Rural Nova Scotia!
Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, is idyllically situated between mountain and sea near the mouth of the Annapolis River. As the oldest European settlement in Canada, it is one of only a few National Historic Districts in the Country.
In 1605 the area was settled by a small group of French explorers led by Samuel de Champlain and Sieur de Mons. The French named the new land Port Royal and built the Habitation as a centre for their operations in Acadie. Subsequently, control of the area was assumed by the British and in 1710 the townsite was renamed Annapolis Royal. The Town was the capital of Nova Scotia from 1710 to 1749, when this distinction was awarded to Halifax.
Today, Annapolis Royal is home to just under 500 people, many of whom live in one of the Town’s 135 designated heritage buildings. Along with its impressive heritage, the Town offers a stunning waterfront, shopping, restaurants, a vibrant arts scene and plenty of outdoor activities all within walking distance.
